Plans after residency: Academic Generalist. but we’ll see where this journey takes me!

Nathan Risley, DO

Medical School: Edward Via. College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM): Auburn Campus
Hobbies: First would be language learning. I am currently perfecting Spanish, and I have an interest in Arabic. Second would be aquatics. I own a 75-gallon saltwater aquarium filled with fish native to the indo-pacific region. Third would be working out. I attempt to go to the gym at least 4-6 times a week.
What I’m looking forward to in residency: I’m looking forward to learning how to make the best decisions in challenging clinical/surgical situations. I was told in this residency that “you wouldn’t believe the stuff we see here”, and I’m really excited to bring these experiences to wherever I practice in the future. Also, being able to help a patient population with such a need is why I got into medicine in the first place.
